For those who prefer history , the region provides a huge range of options from the famous prehistoric site of Lascaux in nearby Perigord Noir to the more recent historic chateaux of the area.
The magnificent Chateaux of Montbazillac, Duras, Bridoire are the closest and are all situated within a 45 minute drive.If you prefer the beauty of medieval architecture the fortified villages Issigeac, Eymet are close and also the larger towns of Ste Foy la Grande and Bergerac with there wonderful local markets.
The more sportive guests can discover the region by canoe / kayak on the Dordogne river or follow the tiny local roads on bicycle. Either option can be organised at the Domaine.
Golfers are also well catered for with two world class courses within an easy drive. The 18 hole (5 star) The Grande Saint Emilionnais signed Tom Doak or the more luxurious 27 hole Château des Vigiers created by Donald Steel. Château des Vigiers has wonderful « 19th hole » options including dining in it’s Michelin star restaurant or adjacent bistro both with beautiful terraces overlooking the spectacular course.
An equestrian centre, situated 15 minutes down the road from the Domaine will keep our horse lovers happy.
Dining Options - the gastronomic reputation of our region is well established. You have a range of options - from a wonderful riverside shack serving great simple food to a full gastronomic experience in a Michelin star restaurant – all within a few minutes drive from the Domaine.

If you feel like some fresh oysters in a beachfront shack or want to simply lie on a beautiful sandy beach the bay of Arcachon and the Atlantic coast are about a two-hour drive.
To complete our leisure options the wonderful regional capital city of Bordeaux, UNESCO listed, is a must. It is less than an hour’s drive from the Domaine or a 55 minute train trip -departing from the tiny station of Velines which is five minutes away.
